Handrails and support rails

Bars, usually cylindrical, attached to a wall, floor or other stable structure that provide the means for a person to support or stabilize himself/herself using hands or arms while walking, e.g. up and down stairs or ramps or moving along corridors.

AssiStep - Staircase Assistant (discontinued)

AssiStep is an aid that provides the extra support and safety you may need to go up or down your stairs. AssiStep consists of a handrail and a handle that can be moved along the handrail. Should you become dizzy or unsteady on your feet, the handle will give you support until you are ready for the next step.
