Open data and documentation

To continue to open data from AssistData (comma separated files and json service including documentation) you have to confirm that you have read, understood and accept the following terms.


Terms - use of data from AssistData


1. General information

The National Board of Social Services, being the responsible authority for obtaining the information that is made available on Assistive Technology Data Denmark, grants the right of use of data on the following terms. Data includes assistive technology related information, including product, vendor, and classification information. For further information, please see: The contents of the database.

The terms are accepted by any use of data.

Furthermore, the general rules of Danish legislation apply to the contractual relationship between the user and the National Board of Social Services.

2. Right of use

The National Board of Social Services grants the user a global, free and non-exclusive right of use of data from Assistive Technology Data Denmark, including product, vendor and classification information, with the restrictions outlined in point 3 below.

With the exceptions set forth in these terms, this data may freely be:

  • copied, distributed and published,
  • changed in its configuration and combined with other material, as well as
  • used commercially and non-commercially.

3. Restrictions on the use of data

It is a condition of the use of the above-mentioned data that all presentation and compilation of data is carried out strictly in a fair and objective manner. This includes making sure that the presentation does not appear anti-competitive. If data is used e.g. in search algorithms, the algorithm must ensure a professionally correct presentation of data. If this is not complied with, the National Board of Social Services is entitled to terminate this agreement for the user, so that the user will then no longer be entitled to use data from Assistive Technology Data Denmark.

Data must not be used in such a way that it may seem that the National Board of Social Services approves, supports, recommends or markets the user, the users products or services.

It must be ensured that the use of data is in accordance with Danish legislation.

The English-language part of the classification information, based on the publication DS/EN ISO 9999 from Danish Standards, may only be used within the borders of Denmark.

4. Source reference

When using data, the following must be stated: Contains data from Assistive Technology Data Denmark provided by the National Board of Social Services. Such a source reference must be given in a clear and distinct manner so that it is legible at a users use of the data from the National Board of Social Services. The National Board of Social Services would like to point out that the product and vendor information in Assistive Technology Data Denmark is provided by the vendors of the products.

5. The rights and responsibilities of the National Board of Social Services

Data is made available as it appears, and the National Board of Social Services has no responsibility for neither content, origin, errors and omissions nor any damage that may result from the use of the data.

The National Board of Social Services does not guarantee the continued provision of data and may at any time change the right of use of the data and its terms, and the National Board of Social Services is also entitled to change both data formats and contents in the database, website, etc.

The National Board of Social Services urges you to notify the board of any errors and omissions at hmi-basen@socialstyrelsen.dk. The National Board of Social Services will investigate and rectify any faults and omissions.
